A dimension table holds the textual information about the business. Hence when there is a change in the information then this can be achieved by different "TYPE" of changes like Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 or even by Type 5 and 6. This is all depend in the requirement. A stage called Slowly Changing Dimension is used to implement these changes.
